Asparagus is high in vitamin E, and is a good source for vitamin A, vitamin C as well as potassium, niacin and iron.
When using Asparagus for your smoothie it's best to trim off the bottoms and cook in boiling water for about 3 minutes. Then you should drain and let them cool to room temperature and chop them up before adding to your smoothie. If you don't have access to fresh asparagus then it's also OK to use canned asparagus.
